Here comes the rain again...
Greetings - the forecast today explains the stiffness of my left knee and ankles (ankles?? ..that's new)... pitiful I'm this sore before I'm even 40. At least I do have 2 arms and 2 legs. And I'm hopeful the large, very sore lump on my neck is a gargantuan zit forming rather than something morbid...but holy CRAP is it ever sore! I think I'm in the 'safe zone' because it's sore, right? If it's still sore on Oct 15 at least I can ask my doctor.
So my class last night was cancelled...no sign ups :(. I kinda figured it'd be a lame turnout though...the page did rot, afterall. Plus, it was premiere night...who wasn't home tuning into the first show of the new season for ER, CSI, and Greys?? I sure was! ER was typical, but good; CSI was good, though I'm a little upset by the catching of the miniature killer -- all good things must come to an end, though. I fell asleep during Survivor but did see who was booted, and I'm totally ok with it. And Greys...oh Greys, how I missed you, and how I love you. I'm soooo happy George decided to return after all. It was my favourite of the premieres, of course, and it had me displaying an array of emotions, from laughing to crying. Izzie was getting a wee bit on my nerves, however. And I laughed out loud when "Bambi" came back to life.

CUTE!
It's Thursday!
Good day! I'm about to burst....I *finally* have my doctor back again!!!! After some personal issues, my original doctor is back in business, and I have an appointment booked in October. I'm going to ask him about my heartburn. He originally had me on some prescription antacid pills, but when the refills ran out, no clinic doctor would re-prescribe them. Now my jumbo extra-strength Rolaid tub is almost empty. I know he'll take one look at me and say, "Amber, Amber....you've really let yourself go...", and blame my diet. Anyway. Maybe I can also get him to light a fire under the arse of those in charge of booking my nerve tests. (My original appointment ended up being cancelled due to equipment issues.....and has YET to be re-scheduled...original date Aug 1....and remember I went to see someone about this LAST DECEMBER for the first time re: my sore wrists...).
Last night's stamping class was a lot of fun. Caught another sad episode of Animal Cops (Animal Planet is on a free preview til Oct 1 for ExpressVu) when I got home, followed by the premiere of Private Practice (late night last night). I wasn't overjoyed with the initial 2 hr Greys episode introducing Addison's new beginnings last season, but last night's premiere was really good. It almost made me want to dance naked. *KIDDING* Grey's premieres tonight!!!!!!!! Totally stoked!!

Nothing like a ride on the S.L.U.T.
SEATTLE, Washington (AP) -- Officially, it's the South Lake Union Streetcar. But in the neighborhood where the new line runs, it's called the South Lake Union Trolley -- or, the SLUT.
At Kapow! Coffee, a shop in the old Cascade neighborhood, 100 T-shirts bearing the words "Ride the SLUT" sold out in days, and another 100 are on order.
"We're welcoming the SLUT into the neighborhood," said Jerry Johnson, 29, a part-time barista.
Some claim -- incorrectly, according to representatives of Vulcan Inc., the company that is developing the area -- that South Lake Union Trolley was the original name and that it was changed when officials belatedly realized the acronym.

In love with the Attic
Happy Hump Day. Last night's jaunt to Summerside with Brandi & Angela was lovely. It was my very first time through the threshold to the Paper Attic... Oh my! The owner of that establishment is right on the money...she rotates to all new product/paper lines every 6 mos so it's always fresh & new. There were new treasures to find...ones certainly not found in our local C-town stores (what's WITH that, anyway? - my thoughts...she actually scrapbooks?? *shrug*). I found a stamp set that I've been looking for for months, and some delicious papers I couldn't resist - including a few glittery Christmas patterns that will adorn my Christmas cards so nicely! After spending a small fortune at the Attic, we then headed back to Kensington to the Lotus Garden for Chinese supper (as it was Brandi's birthday she had the right to choose where we dined). It was actually quite yummy. Awesome egg rolls! And it just so happens that I had a craving for egg rolls a few nights back. Sated!
Tonight is our first night of Angela's "stamp" club, and tomorrow night is my first class at BR - if anyone signs up. Friday night there's a possibility for Brandi & I to join Angela at her place to scrap, since her Chris is working, and then Saturday is the "Pink" Crop for Breast Cancer at BR. Then, on Sunday, I'm going to be meeting up with Kim & Amber for an early supper. FULL week/weekend. Since when did I get so popular anyway?

Poo Poo Poo Poo

So, yes, it's another monkey day. There also appears to be a full moon on the horizon...officially hitting us tomorrow...we all know it affects a few days ahead & a few days after, and well, it explains oh so so much.
So I pretty much vegged on the couch last night after getting home from work...feeling like complete A$$. Thankfully Chris took me up on my offer of giving him my debit card and picking up a few groceries so we'll be able to sustain ourselves this week. For supper, we dined on a $5 PD pizza. Thank goodness for pizza Mondays. The spicy chicken, although not noticed by Sir Chris, bothered me greatly however, and I suffered from nasty heartburn all evening. I need to get that checked.
I felt a little better today, physically, than yesterday, so it wasn't a 'call in sick day'. Too bad, since it's another monkey day. Anyway...now it's a matter of getting through this day, and afterwords, I'll be meeting up with Angela & Brandi at Micheals - from where we'll head to Summerside to visit the Paper Attic, and out to supper for Brandi's birthday. So I do have something to look forward to at least.

uuuuug.
......I feel yuuuuuuuuuuuuucky.
Everything hurts...even my skin hurts...I've just taken 2 Advil in hopes it might alleviate some of it... there's a bug going around the office...and I fear I've fell victim to it...I hope not, but man... It's going to be a loooong day.
Saturday night was fun - landed at Angela's after work, joining her and Maria for some scrap-time. Angela, per usual, made up some yummy snacks. I did up my next class page, and I'm much more pleased with it than the first one. This one is only 1 page, but it's a heritage layout, so hopefully will be a popular choice. I really enjoy doing the old pics of Mom & Dad. I did one more page after that of Zoe, and had to call it a night because I was exhausted. I came home and went straight to bed. Sunday was another 'sleep day'...with napping and tv and not much of anything else. So, I should have gotten caught up on my sleep then...so why to I feel like I've been run over by a large truck? I need a hug...and a massage...and a comfy pillow and soft couch.

Happy Birthday
Oh, and Happy Birthday Fredu! Sorry I missed sending a card on time, bro...I suck. I really really do. I don't even have a good excuse other than I suck. I also missed Belinda's birthday. Knowing it falls close to yours, even one card for the two of you would've been ok, but not even that because I suck. I'll send one belated. It'll be pretty though.

Catch-22 Day
There's a real Catch-22 thing about working on a Saturday - it's great having a day off through the week, as not only does that give you a break in the 5 day work week cycle, it also gives you an opportunity to have time off to do things like banking, appointments, etc, that you can only do during the Monday-Friday timeframe. Also, where I work, Saturday is a much more slow- paced day, with fewer staff in and the 'big wigs' aren't here...so a much more relaxed atmosphere. However, at the same time, working on a Saturday means forsaking a 2-days in a row weekend, which, frankly, my system needs to get regularly. It also means missing a much-needed sleep-in day - when my body pretty much knows it's supposed to be a 'sleep-in' type day.
*sigh* I'm working today, and I'm tired. I'm now starting coffee #2, and I have to admit, Mr. Horton got it right TWICE in one day. Wow. That's for the record books. I survived yesterday, but it never got any better. The chocolate didn't even help (you know it's bad when....). To offset the day of a$$, I opted for some retail therapy once the work day finally ended. I had a 50% off coupon from Michaels that I just could not let go to waste. So I purchased some Making Memories rub-on doodles at 1/2 off, some awesome Bohemia papers at 3 pieces/$1, and a box of cards for the sale price of 40% off. Great deals!! Already I was starting to feel a bit better :). I then popped over to Old Navy since I was right there...saw the CUTEST Halloween costumes for your PET! Bosco would look soooo cute as the spider, and Zoe'd make a fine little cow-girl...but the intent was really for a dog...they seem to let you do more stuff to them than a cat...and the XX-small spider was gone anyway. Still super-cute, but I didn't buy one. I did leave there with the cutest little purse for only $5.99! Still unsure whether to gift it to my neice or keep it myself. I mean, it was only $5.99, so I think I should just keep it. Some people are 'shoe people'....I'm 'purse people'. Heh.
After work I'm heading over to Angela's and we're going to scrap! Looking forward to that...hopefully my thoughts will be inspired with ideas for some class pages.

Bah!...continued...
So the day hasn't improved. I went out on my lunch break, opting for the greasy cheeseburger that I've been craving all week instead of the fruit/veggie platter, thinking I 'deserved' it because of the monkey day. Now I feel like crap :S. I also went shopping at Reitmans since shopping always makes me feel better, but the stuff I tried on looked like crap, so I feel worse. Then I went to the Bulk Barn for some chocolate...since chocolate ALWAYS makes me feel better...but it didn't even help...
Anyway.
So I watched the latest installment of Survivor. The churchy-radio host is already getting on my nerves, and I'm happy to see "Chicken" get the boot because I couldn't understand a word he was saying. He needed subtitles. My favourite line in the entire show,"I bury people", from the hot grave-digging James. The most disturbing part of the show? ...the low-rise jeans Jean-Robert was sporting. EWW! And please...the surprise on the contestants faces when Jeff told them they had to leave all their personal belongings behind and take only the clothes on their backs. Um...yeah....same scenario EVERY season....why adorn yourself with high heels, plunging dresses -- sans brassieres, and '40 lb' boots?? All in all the show was pretty boring, but the first one usually is. Very pretty scenery though, eh? And I love, love, love Todd! He's the cutest!

YORKTOWN, Indiana (AP) -- A man accused of snatching another man's false teeth straight from his mouth during a fight in Yorktown, Indiana, has been charged with robbery.
Robert Henry Stahl, 62, was charged Thursday in Delaware County Circuit Court with felony robbery and battery causing bodily injury, a misdemeanor. If convicted of robbery, he could face two to eight years in prison.
Police and prosecutors said they did not know if Stahl had retained an attorney.
Billie Townsend, 56, told police he went to a bar on July 27 to pay Stahl money he owed him, then Stahl asked him to go outside and started punching him repeatedly.
During the fight, Stahl allegedly put Townsend in a headlock and removed his false teeth. "He said, 'You ain't getting these back,"' Townsend told police.
Stahl did not attend Thursday's hearing and prosecutors did not seek a warrant for his arrest. Another hearing was scheduled for October 22.
Stahl had no number in published listings for Yorktown or Muncie in Indiana and he could not be reached for comment Friday.

Domestic Diva
Happy Thursday. Yesterday I was soo busy I didn't even take time out to post. Sorry, peeps. Yesterday I cleaned house! Got up at 8am, and everything is swept, scrubbed and polished, well, I didn't dust. If anyone knows me, I never dust. It's horrible. I had intended on dusting, but by the time the rest of it was done I didn't want to look at another cleaning instrument, cloth, nothing. In between scrubbing and shining, I managed to do the laundry and I baked cookies and muffins. Look at me, so domesticated. Don't get too excited...peanut butter cookies and muffins from a bag mix. Anyway. I also posted my class page at BR. I'm NOT happy at all with it...:S...and I'll not be at all surprised if no one signs up. I hope to turn out better class pages in future.

When you have to visit a public bathroom, you usually find a line of women, so you smile politely and take your place. Once it's your turn, you check for feet under the stall doors. Every stall is occupied. Finally, a door opens and you dash in, nearly knocking down the woman leaving the stall. You get in to find the door won't latch. It doesn't matter, the wait has been so long you are about to wet your pants! The dispenser for the modern 'seat covers' (invented by someone's Mom, no doubt) is handy, but empty. You would hang your purse on the door hook, if there was one, but there isn't - so you carefully, but quickly, drape it around your neck, (Mom would turn over in her grave if you put it on the FLOOR!), yank down your pants, and assume 'The Stance.'
In this position, your aging, toneless, thigh muscles begin to shake. You'd love to sit down, but you certainly hadn't taken time to wipe the seat or lay toilet paper on it, so you hold 'The Stance.' To take your mind off your trembling thighs, you reach for what you discover to be the empty toilet paper dispenser. In your mind, you can hear your mother's voice saying, 'Honey, if you had tried to clean the seat, you would have KNOWN there was no toilet paper!' Your thighs shake more. You remember the tiny tissue that you blew your nose on yesterday -the one that's still in your purse. (Oh yeah, the purse around your neck, that now, you have to hold up trying not to strangle yourself at the same time). That would have to do. You crumple it in the puffiest way possible. It's still smaller than your thumbnail . Someone pushes your door open because the latch doesn't work. The door hits your purse, which is hanging around your neck in front of your chest, and you and your purse topple backward against the tank of the toilet. 'Occupied!', you scream, as you reach for the door, dropping your precious, tiny, crumpled tissue in a puddle on the floor, lose your footing altogether, and slide down directly onto the TOILET SEAT. It is wet, of course. You bolt up, knowing all too well that it's too late.
Your bare bottom has made contact with every imaginable germ and life form on the uncovered seat because YOU never laid down toilet paper - not that there was any, even if you had taken time to try. You know that your mother would be utterly appalled if she knew, because, you're certain her bare bottom never touched a public toilet seat because, frankly, dear, 'You just don't KNOW what kind of diseases you could get.'
By this time, the automatic sensor on the back of the toilet is so confused that it flushes, propelling a stream of water like a firehose against the inside of the bowl that sprays a fine mist of water that covers your butt and runs down your legs and into your shoes. The flush somehow sucks everything down with such force that you grab onto the empty toilet paper dispenser for fear of being dragged in, too. At this point, you give up. You're soaked by the spewing water and the wet toilet seat. You're exhausted. You try to wipe with a gum wrapper you found in your pocket and then slink out inconspicuously to the sinks. You can't figure out how to operate the faucets with the automatic sensors, so you wipe your hands with spit and a dry paper towel and walk past the line of women still waiting. You are no longer able to smile politely to them.
A kind soul at the very end of the line points out a piece of toilet paper trailing from your shoe. (Where was that when you NEEDED it??) You yank the paper from your shoe, plunk it in the woman's hand and tell her warmly, 'Here, you just might need this.' As you exit, you spot your hubby, who has long since entered, used, and left the men's restroom. Annoyed, he asks, 'What took you so long, and why is your purse hanging around your neck?'.
This is dedicated to women everywhere who deal with a public restrooms (rest??? you've GOT to be kidding!!). It finally explains to the men what really does take us so long. It also answers their other commonly asked questions about why women go to the restroom in pairs. It's so the other gal can hold the door, hang onto your purse and hand you Kleenex under the door!

You remember the tiny tissue that you blew your nose on yesterday -the one that's still in your purse. (Oh yeah, the purse around your neck, that now, you have to hold up trying not to strangle yourself at the same time). That would have to do. You crumple it in the puffiest way possible. It's still smaller than your thumbnail . Someone pushes your door open because the latch doesn't work. The door hits your purse, which is hanging around your neck in front of your chest, and you and your purse topple backward against the tank of the toilet. 'Occupied!', you scream, as you reach for the door, dropping your precious, tiny, crumpled tissue in a puddle on the floor, lose your footing altogether, and slide down directly onto the TOILET SEAT. It is wet, of course. You bolt up, knowing all too well that it's too late.
Your bare bottom has made contact with every imaginable germ and life form on the uncovered seat because YOU never laid down toilet paper - not that there was any, even if you had taken time to try. You know that your mother would be utterly appalled if she knew, because, you're certain her bare bottom never touched a public toilet seat because, frankly, dear, 'You just don't KNOW what kind of diseases you could get.'
By this time, the automatic sensor on the back of the toilet is so confused that it flushes, propelling a stream of water like a firehose against the inside of the bowl that sprays a fine mist of water that covers your butt and runs down your legs and into your shoes. The flush somehow sucks everything down with such force that you grab onto the empty toilet paper dispenser for fear of being dragged in, too. At this point, you give up. You're soaked by the spewing water and the wet toilet seat. You're exhausted. You try to wipe with a gum wrapper you found in your pocket and then slink out inconspicuously to the sinks. You can't figure out how to operate the faucets with the automatic sensors, so you wipe your hands with spit and a dry paper towel and walk past the line of women still waiting. You are no longer able to smile politely to them.
A kind soul at the very end of the line points out a piece of toilet paper trailing from your shoe. (Where was that when you NEEDED it??) You yank the paper from your shoe, plunk it in the woman's hand and tell her warmly, 'Here, you just might need this.' As you exit, you spot your hubby, who has long since entered, used, and left the men's restroom. Annoyed, he asks, 'What took you so long, and why is your purse hanging around your neck?'.
This is dedicated to women everywhere who deal with a public restrooms (rest??? you've GOT to be kidding!!). It finally explains to the men what really does take us so long. It also answers their other commonly asked questions about why women go to the restroom in pairs. It's so the other gal can hold the door, hang onto your purse and hand you Kleenex under the door!

I *LOVE* DICK!
I've been waiting all BB season to use that post title. Heh.
And Dick is victorious! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOOOOOOYA!!!!!!!!! But as you all know, I knew it all along...muahhhhhaaa!
Strategically, there was no other choice. And it wasn't even a close victory, taking it easily with a 5-2 vote. Enjoy your trip around the world, man...you totally deserve it!! The next thing I'm waiting for now is Dick getting his own show. BOOOOYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

stupid is as stupid does...
So the sleep was much better last night - though I think if I had've gone to bed 3 hrs prior to when I actually did, I would have benefitted more. Anyway. I'm off tomorrow, on account of working again this coming Saturday, so I think I'll be able to make it to the end of the day. I'm a tad less cranky...emphasis on the 'tad'. I'm having a 'stupid' day...I feel stupid, everything I do takes me double the time as it should, and the public I've been dealing with...well...following suit.
So I tweaked the blog up a bit, and figured I should post something for today. Finale for BB is on. I'm still pulling for Dick to the bitter end, despite blue balls or coded letters. I'm a little skeptical if Daniele will share the winnings if she's the ultimate winner. More than once she's 'joked' about not sharing, and well...it should be an interesting turn of events. GO DICK!
Day 2 on the veggie/fruit platter lunch - I even walked to the store to get it...I think it was more out of laziness though to get it than the health benefit. I have very little gas and didn't want to take the time out of my lunch hour to go get gas.

Bleeding from old wounds...
Ever wake up from a restless, dream-filled night, where you were angry in your dreams, and you wake up pi$$ed off at the world? I'm having one of those days. I really don't think I slept much at all...aside from maybe the the final hour before my alarm went off. Needless to say, I feel like crap, and it's taking everything inside of me to last out the day. I'm hungry, I need coffee, everyone I deal with today is cranky....bah!
First thing this morning I brought up our local newspaper's website. First section I go to is Deaths. Why is that, anyway? We get 'older' and the first thing we do is check out who isn't around anymore? Anyway...discovered a co-worker's father passed away on the weekend. He was young - 55 - cancer. Seeing that and knowing exactly what he's going through just added sadness to the crankiness of the day. *sigh*.
So I went for lunch...first stopping at the pet store for more cat food...while there I ran into Jimmy Mac...hadn't seen that boy since that summer he, Julie, Teddy & myself went out go-carting, mini-golfing and then out for ice cream. That was years ago. I had heard from Teddy & Julie that he'd met a girl and had lost a ton of weight. Holy CRAP...if he hadn't have spoken first I never would have known it was him. He looks fantastic. After getting the pet food and shooting the proverbial sh!t with Jimmy for a moment, I opted for a veggie/fruit platter for lunch, as opposed to the greasy cheeseburger I so craved. :S God give me some willpower.....

Looking right at you but not hearing a thing you say...
Happy weekend. Had a lovely time last night with the girls. We met up at Lana's for a pot-luck and gab session. We munched on hummous, chicken wings, puffed pastries with cheese, and some boiled up pork pieces that I did try, but wouldn't eat again. (Lana will hate me for referring to them that way. They weren't exactly 'finger food', no, but I'm still unsure how one would eat them delicately). And finally to top off the food we ended with slivers of yummy cake. We reminisced, talked about current events, and looked at each other in wonderment at how we 'survived' (and we all declared something that came out of our teen years - from teenage pregnancy to multiple sexual partners). It was a hoot. Thanks ladies - when can we do it again?
So on the schedule for this evening - hmm...good question! I won tickets to tonight's Hip concert. They had a contest going on at work, and amazingly enough, I was the winner. However, I am not a Hip fan, so I really don't want to go to the concert. I ended up giving them to a co-worker - he felt he couldn't just 'take' them, so agreed to give me $40. I have to admit that the $40 will certainly come in handy with pay day so far away. So now that I know what I'm not doing...it's up in the air what I will do. As far as I know, Chris will be gone til late with the Shellfish Festival (say that fast 5 times). I should do some house-cleaning so I can relax tomorrow. Maybe I'll treat myself to take-0ut and a girlie movie. Hmmph - there goes that $40.

They did it....
Well they did it! Despite the 'incident' with the letter (the link I earlier wrote about), I'm still happy for the way it all went down. Zach fought for the spot and he lost, and Dick won, fair and square. Now it really doesn't matter which one wins on Tuesday. The Donatos rule both first and 2nd, but I still think Dick deserves the top prize because he, of all the rest of the players, played the best game -strategically. After watching the rest of them last night in the jury house, my 'love' for Dick was re-affirmed. How glad I am that some of those others aren't in the running!
So it's a day off for me....I work tomorrow. So far, it's been a real 'sleeper'....hah. Since Chris has to shoot the Shellfish Festival this weekend, he,too, was off today so we both had the opportunity to sleep in this morning, and it was glorious (despite me waking up at 3:30am with the worst charlie horse ever.......oooooooooW). We dined on breakfast bagels and I got us some Timmys coffee, and then I returned to my napping position after he left to go to the shoot. I'm just about to hop in the shower though - really, I am. Tonight I'm going over to Lana's with the girls for an impromtu pot-luck. I can't wait!

"Death Sentence" was LIKE a death sentence....
Oh Melissa, I deeply apologize for my movie choice. All I could say as the credits rolled and we stumbled out of the theatre was, "WTF??!?". It was horrible. Terrible. Awful. We didn't get up and leave, at least it was enough 'suspense' for us to at least wonder how it would end, but dear Jebus. To set the setting, picture skinny, pale, whiteboy Kevin Bacon in a Terminator-esque role. Bizarre image, isn't it? Mmm. Yeah. I researched it on IMDb first, and it showed it to have a rating of 7.2/10. Then I found this review, which is much more on par with reality:

Kevin Bacon as a single-handed vigilante out to clean up the streets? We both expected him to start dancing to the tune of "Footloose" as he took off running down the streets.

Oh my Oh my Oh my....Daniele squeaked by with another PoV win....and there was some screamin' and shoutin' goin' on in the trailerhood! Now to just get through the HoH competitions to eliminate Zach! Because there was such a fluff going on at work about something that was 'spoiled' I was left a little curious at the end of the show - because it was all good to me! So, when I got to work, I gave in and asked to have someone send me the link that everyone was oohing and ahhing about ....

Wow...I don't want to spoil anything for those in my readership who do watch the show and don't wish to be seeing anything...but suffice it to say I'm disappointed in Dick, and I'm surprised that nothing was done about this on the show last night. That's all I will say at this time.
And Canada came through to vote in the proper Idol last night. Brian deserved to win - although I'm still more than disappointed that Greg wasn't a contendor - because he really really should have been. The finale was quite entertaining, and Jon didn't disappoint...yummmmm...though, I really wanted to hear the "Make a Memory" song. Anyway.
I got the majority of the laundry done last night, and tonight, after work I'm going on a 'date' with Melissa. We're going to grab a bite to eat and go to the movies. I'm so excited!

Goodbye Ruby Tuesday...
My horoscope today advised I was having a 3 star day. I sure am. One of those days where it pretty much recommended that if I have the option to stay home, I should. Anyway. I'm almost to the end...I have blisters on my feet, my lunch is sitting like a big blob in my stomach making me feel icky, I'm wearing the wrong underwear, and I've been busying myself with sticking my fingers in my ears and singing, "la la la la la la", outloud to prevent myself from hearing the spoiler information that's going around the office about tonight's Big Brother! Apparently it's shocking, and detrimental and it's going to bother me severely....I'll be sure to blog about it tomorrow, no doubt. I'm avoiding all forums and websites related to BB and I think my co-workers are going to respect my decision to find out tonight, and not early. It's mental torment though - really - want to know, but don't want to know...

Weekend update
So I'll make my BB rant brief - I'm unimpressed by the HoH - more unimpressed by the nominated members....think it's ludicrous to even think of a win for either Zach or Jameka because they're both useless, and am crossing my fingers, toes and anything else that dangles that either Dick or Daniele win the power of veto. Zach's rant last night, "...I am the muscle...", made me gag. He's such a baffoon!
So an update on my weekend: Friday night I worked til 9:15pm so had to pack quickly before bed, to prepare for Saturday's 'retreat'. Sat morning I met up with the girls at 8:30 at Home Hardware in Stratford, before making our way to Camp Fairhaven in Murray River. It was 'rustic', but what could one expect from a bunk house at a camp? I do not camp...so it was a little more rustic than I'd like, but it was cheaper than an alternative meeting spot. The advantages were meeting with good friends, lots of good laughs, good food, time to create new layouts, and a little 'break' from reality. Disadvantages: the hot humid day we had on Saturday, the ants, (found out they BITE too), the icky bathroom toilets, the nature "smell", sleeping in a strange environment, sleeping on the floor in a strange environment, and my inability to sleep in a room of snoring ladies.
Sunday was a write-off, on account of getting maybe 2 hrs sleep Sat night. I napped on the couch inbetween watching Animal Planet (free preview on the dish this month - love the channel, but I fear it's making me unstable!! How I cry when I see some of those poor animals...). I should have done the laundry, but opted to leave the huge pile for tonight...or tomorrow night...*wink*. On account of the laziness that was my Sunday and the lack of food in the fridge, we opted for supper out - and I treated Chris & I to Boston Pizza, and then it was home for BB, Family Guy and BED.
Careful with that salty meat...

Boooya!
So someone said to me today, "don't say that out loud", when I expressed my glee with last night's episode results and my continued push toward a Dick victory. I'm not faltering on this one.....GO DICK!! YOU ROCK!! The Donatos rule the house... or shall I say, Dick rules the house. I was a little shocked by the results of America's vote for the 2nd round, though... Bottom four, the double-D's, Zach & Jameka. Daniele & Dick both have to continue to fight tooth and nail, but I feel it will be down to the two of them for a victory. I'd be happy with either one of them pulling thru as winner, but am hoping it's Dick all the way.
In non-BB-related news, it's Friday!! Thank goodness it finally arrived. Now to just get through the work-week to have the weekend finally arrive. I am totally unprepared for this weekend's scrap getaway. That's normal though. I went into Michaels on my lunch break and bought a block of neutral 12x12 paper, hoping that they will suffice for suitable background papers.
So the back to school flurry is all around us, and I have to admit, I'm a little jealous. The geek that I was in school lapped up every minute of it. How I loved getting new clothes and, better yet, new school supplies! I remember how nervous I would be, wondering who my new teacher would be, and if he/she was a 'good' teacher. I remember hoping I had a friend in the same class. I remember how traumatic it was entering grade 5 in PE, after moving from Ontario...how Dad and Mom came with us (my brother and I) on the first day, and how upset I was to be 'leaving the nest' and entering into a brand-new place, outside of my 'comfort zone'. Now I'm in the 'real world', working for a 'living', and still not quite knowing yet what I want to be, when I 'grow up'.
In non-BB-related news, it's Friday!! Thank goodness it finally arrived. Now to just get through the work-week to have the weekend finally arrive. Goin' dizzy watching the traffic pass by...
Greetings - I made it through the day yesterday unscathed...a trip to a clothing store on my lunch break and 2 new pairs of pants later made me feel a little better. I did get 30% off of my 2nd pair. The 'tightness' on my tush yesterday disgusted me so I had no choice. The size of the new pants disgusted me even more, but heck, I need something to get me through the fall/winter. I hope I can finally work myself up to a new routine at some point to try to start moving a bit and eating better. It's becoming out of control.
So we're now at Thursday- for a 4 day work week, it's moving unbelievely slow. I've been experiencing a lot of heartburn lately. I fear I'm developing an ulcer. That, and perhaps a twitch.
This weekend, myself, Angela, Brandi, Shelley, Maria, Penzie, Laurie-Anne, and Charity are all bunking out at a girl guide camp and scrapping our buns off. We leave early Saturday morning and are staying the night Saturday. This should truly be an experience....me roughing it. Now I'm not an all-out 'princess' but when it comes to camping, well, I sort of am. There will be working plumbing I've been advised - but I'm currently on the hunt for an air mattress and sleeping bag. Sunday will definitely be a 'hat day' as well. Not quite sure what I'll be working on - oh I'm so organized.
Big BB on tonight...double eviction...yikes....go Donatos, go.............

Ok. So I really should have opted for a 'personal day' today.
Here's a list of my gripes of the day, thus far:
-WHO cuts their lawn at 7:15 in the MORNING??
-Mr. Horton, I said ONE sugar....not THREE. Jebus Chrisco!!
-My pants are very uncomfortable. I know I only have myself to blame, but still...I have to sit here for the next 8.5 hrs in discomfort.
-So far I've spoken with 3 people today, the first tore a strip off of me and the next wouldn't let me speak as she felt her voice was more important, I presume.
1- 2- 3- 4- 5- 6- 7- 8- 9- 10- *counting to 10* ...I've got a lot of day left yet to have it start off this way :S.

Where've I been?
Busy times - long time since my last post. Here's the quick & dirty version of what's been up with me since my last post:
- Friday night it ended up just being Julie & myself; we met up at the Dollarama and shopped around there and Wal-mart before heading back to my place. She hadn't seen Thursday's episode of BB so we watched that. I randomly found out who won the HoH early - and wasn't happy at finding out, nor the recipient of the HoH. Now that it's Tuesday it's now common knowledge that Zach won. Although he picked Jessica & Jemeka - I'm very nervous about the double eviction Thursday....... Happy that I got some QT with Julie - boy I'll miss her...wish she wasn't so far away.... :(
- Saturday morning, I got up bright & early to meet Angela at BR to go over the ins/outs of being an instructor. There are some limitations to what can be done with pages, due to cost effectiveness...so I'm feeling slightly limited. She & I and Brandi then went out to Pizza Delight for lunch - we got the buffet....LESS than stellar. Sat night, after a 2 hr nap, I headed to Argyle Shore and joined Lana's family scrapping. I worked on my first 'class page', and I'm totally unsatisfied with it...thinking of starting over again :S.
- Sunday I got up early, got ready, headed back to the cottage for the afternoon. I finished a few pages for myself, but in all, unsatisfied with my scrapping. I woke up with a sore throat on Sunday, so I blame that. I headed back into town at about 4:30 or so, meeting up with Chris to head to Olivia & Steve's engagement party, then home.
- Monday I did absolutely nothing - and had full intentions of doing this, and feel totally guilt-free about it. I still wasn't feeling 100%, and I knew the week ahead was going to be insane, so planned a nothing day, and loafed on the couch, catching a bit of tv in between naps.
That brings us to current - on night shifts this week...and it's busy as H-E-double-hockey-sticks. We're working OT this week and next, and I'm tired before I start. Least I have BB to look forward to this evening. If you think I sound cranky, you'd be correct.
- Friday night it ended up just being Julie & myself; we met up at the Dollarama and shopped around there and Wal-mart before heading back to my place. She hadn't seen Thursday's episode of BB so we watched that. I randomly found out who won the HoH early - and wasn't happy at finding out, nor the recipient of the HoH. Now that it's Tuesday it's now common knowledge that Zach won. Although he picked Jessica & Jemeka - I'm very nervous about the double eviction Thursday....... Happy that I got some QT with Julie - boy I'll miss her...wish she wasn't so far away.... :(
- Saturday morning, I got up bright & early to meet Angela at BR to go over the ins/outs of being an instructor. There are some limitations to what can be done with pages, due to cost effectiveness...so I'm feeling slightly limited.
