R.I.P Pearl

If there's one thing that disgusts me, enrages me, and saddens me all at the same time, it's cruelty to animals. I'm totally disgusted. I saw this on the news last night, and was in tears during the broadcast:

From CBC's website:

Halifax police arrested four people and charged at least one of them after a five-month-old kitten was beaten to death with a golf club over the weekend.
Several people, including a group of children, witnessed the incident on Sunday in the Spryfield area of Halifax on Cobalt Walk, media reports said.
Police questioned a man and three teenage boys. Two of the young people were released, but charges are pending against one of the teens, police said.
Police said they picked up an adult and charged him with offences not directly related to the death of the cat. The man was taken into custody, but they've released no other details.
The kitten named Pearl was in the front yard of its home when it was beaten.
The cat's owner, an 11-year-old girl, and her two 12-year-old cousins were sitting nearby and said they witnessed the attack.
Two weeks ago, another cat was found hanging by its neck in a Cole Harbour backyard.

The people that would do this to an innocent animal need to be dealt with - they need much stiffer sentences. It's these people who will end up doing these types of things to humans.
