From CBC's website:
Charlottetown police have arrested a man after he took a chainsaw to a park gazebo.
The Desbrisay Park gazebo was worth more than $15,000, said deputy police chief Richard Collins.
"For some bizarre reason that we can't discuss at this point in time, the individual felt the gazebo had to be dismantled," he said.
Residents in the area thought the man was a parks employee, and no one called police until the gazebo was completely destroyed, he added.
The 41-year-old man is facing a charge of damage to property exceeding $5,000. He is currently in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown for psychiatric assessment.
I just love the quote from Collins, "for some bizarre reason that we can't discuss...". And the full moon was over a few days ago, even. Hmmph.

It took a long time for people to phone it into police.
Weird.
